ARSDO senior management Meets Nuristan Governor to Strengthen Health Service Delivery

On 28 June 2026, the Nuristan BPHS management team held a productive meeting with the Governor of Nuristan to discuss the progress, achievements, and future priorities of the Basic Package of Health Services (BPHS) program.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Sadaqat Yaqubi, Program Manager from the ARSDO Kabul Office, Dr. Said Dawud Ghani, Project Lead from the Nuristan Provincial Office, and Mr. Khan Agha Hanifi, Acting Provincial Public Health Director (PPHD).

During the meeting, the BPHS team highlighted the program’s key achievements, particularly its strong performance in meeting health service targets, ensuring the continuous availability of essential medical supplies, and renovating health facilities with the generous support of UNICEF. The team also shared updates on ongoing efforts to improve the quality and accessibility of healthcare services across the province.

The participants discussed the challenges faced in the field and emphasized the importance of continued collaboration and coordination among the provincial government, the Public Health Directorate, and implementing partners. The Governor appreciated the team’s commitment and reaffirmed his support for strengthening the health system and addressing challenges to ensure better healthcare services for the people of Nuristan.
